Like many novelists Julia Wilmot wrote a book and stuffed it in a drawer. The book sat and awaited its destiny and sure enough in 2015 Julia had retrieved the book and finished it. We can say thank-you for that as the story is both engaging and full of wisdom with a good dose of humor sprinkled amongst the pages.

Top 10 Tips

1. Don't overprice
2. Create events on social media and invite your friends to share.
3. Invite local press to cover your next event to spread the word.
4. Add a testimonial from a previous participant to highlight your event.
5. Stick to the date. Do not cancel for lack of entries if possible. You must expect to build attendance over time. No-one likes planning their schedule to have it changed.
6. Be sure all advertising includes time, date, place and contact info.
7. Respond to all inquiries promptly and with detailed information.
9. Plan dates well in advance. Many competitors book their schedules for the entire year in December/January in the North East.
10. Pray for good weather.
